Kathy Jan Rodgers Herrmann, born September 14, 1950 in Cushing, OK, to Richard and Theola (Earnest) Rodgers passed from this life on June 18, 2025.

Kathy was raised in Ripley where she attended school until the family moved to California and she graduated from Manteca High School.  On March 12, 1967, when Kathy was 16 years old, she was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Brother Lester Arnold.  Shortly after her graduation from high school, she met Emmett Lee Roy Herrmann and they were married on December 28, 1968.

Following their wedding, they moved to Blanding, Utah where they had their daughter Stephanie Jan.  After spending a few years in California, they had the opportunity to return to Cushing, Oklahoma and made it their home where their son, Randall Van Travis, was born.  When Emmett passed away after 28 years of marriage, she went to work for the Creek County Health Department.  She retired in 2012 after 14 years of service.

On September 28, 2010, Kathy married George Newport.  Their marriage was brief, but she was a faithful companion to him during his long illness until his passing in 2013.  During their time together, they were able to care for George's grandsons Eldon and Rex for about a year.  She loved those boys very much.

Kathy loved spending time with her siblings and cousins.  Staying connected with them was always very important to her.  She had many hobbies over the years including: bowling, playing games, putting puzzles together, quilting, and scrapbooking.  She also loved to spend time researching family history.  Her favorite thing to do was travel.  She loved visiting lighthouses and collecting their replicas.  She made it to all but four of the United States.

Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jasper and Lona Earnest; grandparents, Marshall and Dolly Rodgers; parents, Richard and Theola Rodgers; siblings, Richard Jerral Rodgers and Reggie Rodgers;  husband, Emmett Herrmann; and husband, George Newport.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Harris and her husband Jay of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Randall Herrmann of Yale, OK; four grandchildren, Austin Herrmann of Stillwater, OK, Erin Hart and her husband Tristan of Stillwater, OK, Hailey Harris of Stillwater, OK and Jack Harris of Norman, OK; great grandchild, Azalea Hart; brother Marshall Rodgers and his wife Bobbie of Cushing, OK; and sister, Rene Toles of Stillwater, OK; the Newport family, plus many family, friends and brethren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Interment will be at Parkland Cemetery immediately following.
