Keith L. Cartmill, a devoted family man and dedicated professional, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, in Cushing, Oklahoma. Born on January 11, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Keith's life was marked by steadfast commitment — to his work, his family, and the community that shaped him.
Keith was raised in the close-knit town of Cushing, where he graduated from Cushing High School in 1971. Following his passion for learning and growth, he attended East Central University. It was here that he met Sharon Brown, the love of his life and his cherished wife. Their bond was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual support. Together, they built a life deeply enriched by love and shared experiences.
Professionally, Keith was a man of unwavering dedication. He spent over 30 years as a pipeliner with BP Amoco, retiring in 2012. His career was a reflection of his integrity and work ethic, qualities that earned him respect from colleagues and friends alike. Through his efforts, Keith not only contributed to his profession but also to the livelihoods of those around him.
Family was everything to Keith. He took immense joy in spending quality time and traveling with his loved ones. Keith enjoyed golfing, leading singing at the Church of Christ and was a passionate supporter of Oklahoma University sports, especially football. These interests brought him camaraderie and joy, allowing him to connect with others who shared his enthusiasm.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Gertrude Cartmill, whose legacy he carried forward through his own values and actions. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife Sharon, son Casey Cartmill and his wife, Yvonndalona; and son Brian Cartmill and his partner Susan Cantrell; and his beloved grandsons, Xander and Wyatt Cartmill, whose lives he profoundly touched.
His passing is deeply mourned by those privileged to know him, and his memory will be forever honored in the hearts of his family and friends. Keith L. Cartmill's life was a shining example of dedication, love, and kindness — a legacy that will endure across generations.
