Laveta "Veta" Lynn Houston a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019 in Stillwater at the age of 51.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, Ok.  Brother Danny Godwin will officiate.  Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Ok.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Veta was born on February 18, 1968 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Richard Lee and Alberta Rae (Floyd) Houston.  She grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1986.  Veta worked as a waitress at the Chinese Restaurant at the Wilshire and Wal-Mart for a few years.  Then she moved to Stillwater where she worked for Wall's and then Braums.  Veta was very crafty and creative making something out of nothing.  She enjoyed shopping.  Veta will be missed by her family and friends.

Veta is survived by her twin sister Neta Houston of Drumright, sister Peggy Houston of Cushing, brother Ricky Lee Houston and wife Anita of Stillwater, nieces and nephew Nocona Wright and husband James, Teddy Houston, Ricky Houston II and wife Lacy, Lesly Ricky and husband Marvin, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Theodore Allen Houston and her grandparents.
