Leonard Daniel "Dan" Westfall, 88, long time Perkins resident passed from this life on October 20, 2021, in Oklahoma City. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Perkins.
Dan was born on November 3, 1932, in Friona, Texas to proud parents Leonard G. and Bessie E. (Hagar) Westfall. After high school, Dan enlisted in the United States Army. When he was honorably discharged, he came home to marry the love of his life, Edna Kendrick on August 31, 1957. Their union was blessed with three beautiful daughters to raise, Dana, Anita, and Linda. Dan taught Aeronautical Technology at OSU for 5 years before becoming Maintenance Supervisor at Stillwater Airport. In 1974 he became the first manager of the Coop in Perkins working there for several years. Many affectionately knew him as "Dan the Mailman" delivering rural mail until retirement from the Perkins post office. For over 55 years, Dan and Edna owned a ranch south of town raising cattle. He was a Charter Member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, OK. He was active in the Believers Sunday School Class and AYs.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son Dale; and his siblings, Vivian Westfall, June Kirkpatrick, Virl Allen, and Ricky Westfall.
He is survived by his faithful wife of over 64 years, Edna; daughters, Dana (Mark) Larson, Anita (Don) Francis, and Linda (Steve) Barta; grandchildren, Kasey (Matt) Lore, Bethany (Hayden) Petitt, Leah Wilson, Lana (Kyle) Vanzant, Aaron Barta, and Jenna Barta; great-grandson, Truett Daniel Vanzant; siblings, Donna Stallard, Grover Don (Theresa) Westfall, and Herschel (Carla) Westfall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 2021, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 246 S. Main Street Perkins, OK.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 2415 E. 104 th Street Perkins, OK 74059. The family respectfully requests everyone in attendance please wear masks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Perkins-Tryon Elementary Library or Perkins Immanuel Baptist Church.
