Obituary

  1. Lovine Greenfield, longtime Cushing resident passed from this life on Friday, August 23, 2019 at her home surrounded by family at the age of 88.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Cushing.  Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Lovine was born on August 21, 1931 to Joe and Pauline (Retherford) Stevens in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.  She grew up in the Agra/Parkland area and attended school in a schoolhouse just east of Agra.  Lovine was baptized in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on October 8 th , 1944.  Lovine met and fell in love with Hershel Greenfield.  They were united in marriage on April 17, 1948 in Cushing.  They had three loving children:  Hershel Dean, Lonnie Joe, and Curtis Steven.  Lovine was more than just a stay at home mother.  She was a fantastic cook, seamstress, and gardener.

Lovine did not know the word relax or freetime.  In 1974, she started delivering papers for the Cushing Citizen.  Then in 1977, she opened a Ceramics shop.  All while doing these jobs, Lovine sold Avon makeup and took care of her family.

Lovine was a devoted Christian, attending the Church of the Firstborn in Cushing her entire life.  During the Christmas season her heart was full of joy.  She would decorate the entire church and her house with Christmas decorations.

Lovine was loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to all.  She will be missed.

Lovine was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Hershel Greenfield; both parents, Joe and Pauline (Retherford) Stevens; two sons, Hershel Dean Greenfield and wife, Sandy and second wife, Dianna, and Lonnie Joe Greenfield; daughter in law, Pamela Jean Greenfield; three sisters, one brother, two grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Lovine is survived by two children, Curtis Greenfield and Almyra Greenfield Britton; eleven grandchildren, Luke Greenfield and wife, Maranda, Dusty Joe Greenfield and wife, Heather, Mashae Malone and husband, Zach, Roy Biswell and wife, Amber, Sholie Pruitt and husband, Jeff, Brandon Greenfield and wife, Lori, KaeLoni Hamm and husband, Timothy, Hunter Greenfield and wife, Mandy, Heather (Greenfield) Combs, Shandon Greenfield and wife, Lena, and Teigun Greenfield.  Lovine is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
