"The greatest pleasures of earth cannot be compared to the joys of heaven." On Friday afternoon, December 8, 2023, Lynda Louise Grimes moved to her Heavenly home peacefully surrounded by her family. Lynda was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and her family more than anything. Lynda set an example for her children, grandchildren, great granddaughter and all who were fortunate enough to know her. The lessons and love she taught them will lead them all their lives. She was a proud member of Liberty Free Methodist Church for forty nine years.

Lynda was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on June 10, 1949 to the late Junior (J.G.) Wilson and the late Norma Leigh.

She was a graduate of the Perkins class of 1967 and recounted very fond memories of her time there.

On July 18, 1969 she married the love of her life, Billy Gene Grimes. They enjoyed a loving, wonderful marriage of 54 years. To this union three daughters were born; Teresa, Lisa and Amanda.

Lynda dedicated 37 years to Ripley Public Schools. She considered all who walked those halls to be her "kids". Ms. Lynda was an integral part of the school and loved her school family very much!

She is survived by her husband Bill, three daughters Teresa (Eddie) Ware, Lisa (Dusty) Baker, and Amanda (Josh) Boucher. Six grandchildren Macee Baker, Jarin (Sierra) Baker, Kayla Dees, Layla Boucher, Jared (Amber) Ware and Sarah Ware. One great granddaughter, Grace Ware. She is also survived by her siblings Danita (Sam) Savory, Stacy (Billy) Isca, Kim (Don) Hughes, Larry (Sheryl) Leigh, Diana (Gary) Frank, Ronnie (Donna) Leigh, Kelly (Lecia) Leigh, Cindy (Dan) Barrick, and Kevin (Susan) Leigh. She also leaves behind numerous other family members and friends that she loved deeply. She treasured her role as Wife, Momma, Grandma, Sister, Aunt Lynda and Ms. Lynda.

She was preceded in death by her father Junior (J.G.) Wilson, mother Norma Leigh and grandson Justin Dean Baker.

We will be celebrating her life and legacy on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11:00am in the Ripley School Auditorium. Family dinner to follow the service.
