Mary Charity
Case
October 17, 1936 – March 28, 2020
Mary Charity (Adkins) Case, daughter of Rev. George D. and Margaret Drummond Adkins, was born October 17, 1936, in Ft. Worth, TX, the younger of two children. Her family returned to Oklahoma City when she was 2 years old. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1954. She married John Seavey in 1954 and to this union of six years one child, Mary Margaret "Mickey" Seavey was born. Mary attended Oklahoma University for one year. After college she was employed as a bookkeeper with the University Police Department. Later she was a bookkeeper for New York Life Insurance Co., then New England Mutual Insurance Co. and for twelve years at Tinker Credit Union.
Mary met Kenneth Case in March of 1961. Mary often told the story about the first five times Kenneth took her to church. She would ask him questions on the way and each time the minister would answer the question in his sermon. Mary was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on January 21, 1962 by Brother James Cook at a lake in Shawnee.
Mary and Kenneth were married in the home of Bob and Gladys Tibbett on April 28, 1965. To this union one child, Kelly Case was born. They moved to Cushing, OK in May of 1978. Throughout their life they traveled many places among the Brethren across the United States going to every state except three.
If anyone had the gift of help's, Mary did. She helped many couples set up their first budget. She also helped Kenneth set up the Parkland Cemetery records and The Directory of Churches. Mary took care of her Aunt "Tommy", Eunice Dean and her father until their deaths. She has always been one of the first ones to volunteer to help clean the church and sit up with the sick. For over thirty years Mary has recorded prophecies and given them to the brethren involved. Mary had a special way of testifying by telling simple stories that had special meaning and touched everyone's heart.
Mary passed from this life on March 28, 2020 surrounded by her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.
