Mary Jo (Bell) Ellis went to meet her Lord and Savior on December 16, 2024, at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 75 years of age.
Mary was born August 27, 1950, to James and Imogene (Simmons) Bell of Yale, Oklahoma. She graduated as a salutatorian in 1968 at Quay School and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Teacher Education from Oklahoma State University. She began teaching at Yale High School, later at Mannford High School and retired after a long teaching career at Tulsa Public Schools. During her teaching years, she continued advanced studies in Education.
Mary loved to make flower arrangements for special holidays. She would go to her mother's house for the holidays and do all the cooking for her two sons and her mother. She loved to cook and have her family around her.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, James Mack Bell and her youngest sister, Wanda Maxine Bell.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Ralph Bryan Ellis III from Tulsa, OK and Jason James Ellis from Scottsdale, AZ; sons' father Ralph Ellis, Jr; Mother, Imogene Bell from Yale, OK; two sisters, Carol and husband Randy Turner from Yale, OK and Martha and husband Mike Robinson from Yale, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the Fellowship Baptist Church of Yale, OK. Interment will follow at Lawson Cemetery in Yale, OK.
