Mary Jane Jones, 78, longtime Oilton resident passed from this life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, OK.

Mary was born October 27, 1943, in Cushing, OK, to proud parents Lonzo Clinton and Edna Marie (Taylor) Dickerson.  She was raised in Oilton attending school there and graduating with the Class of 1960.  Shortly after graduation she married Ralph Jones at the First Baptist Church Parsonage in Oilton on September 10, 1960.  They moved to Altus Air Force Base where Ralph was stationed in the United States Air Force.  There they welcomed their three children, Robert "Bobby", Kimberly, and Kelly Anne.  The family shared many fun adventures growing up as Ralph was stationed all over the world.  They lived in Guam, South Dakota, in Oilton while Ralph was serving in Vietnam, Missouri, Germany, and California. Every place they lived they made the most of it, seeing all the sights and visiting every nearby attraction.

After his retirement from the military, the family moved back home to Oilton and Mary went to work as the secretary at Oilton Public Schools.  After a few years she left to be a full-time Granny loving and spoiling her grandkids. Mary was at every one of their ball games, heckling the referees and coaches.

Mary was very artistic, she was a gifted painter, crafter, and did ceramics.  She was an avid reader and, in her lifetime, read tens of thousands of different books. Countless hours were spent playing Bingo and watching Jeopardy (knowing most of the answers.) Mary's best friend in life was her sister, Marguarett; from girls' trips to attending Willie Nelson or Oak Ridge Boy's concerts they shared many adventures together.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, and one infant brother, Carl Robert.

She is survived by her three children, Bobby and Marilyn Jones of Oilton, Kimberly and David Walker of Oilton, and Kelly and Bobby Lasater of Oilton; siblings, Billy and Tammy Boundy of Oilton, and Marguarett and Kenneth Bohannon of Oilton; grandchildren, Jason and Jessica Jones of Oilton, Katie and Justin Masterson of Bristow, Davey and Katie Walker of Oilton, Kamrin and Shane Davis of Owasso, Marlana Jones of Oilton, Kelsey and Chase Snapp of Kiefer, and Ethan and Martina Jones of Oilton; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Oilton, Oklahoma. As well as Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Crossroads Community Church, 52787 W, OK-51, Jennings, OK 74038. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Oilton. Pastors Mark Jackson and Mike Clark will officiate.
