Obituary

Theresa Juliette Cox, lovingly known as Midge, passed away on August 30, 2024, at the age of 68. Her life began on November 5, 1955, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she was born to Charles and Dessie Radford.

Midge's journey took her from the familiar fields of Oklahoma to Texas in her early teens, before returning to her roots in Oklahoma to build a loving family. Her heart was as vast as the horizon, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was playing pool with friends, fishing by the water, or sharing laughter at "the doghouse" or the Buckhorn, Midge's warmth and spirit were ever-present.

Her 35-year career at Sunnyside School was a testament to her dedication and love. Midge cherished her students and colleagues, seeing them as an extended family. Her co-workers embraced her through life's challenges, including the profound loss of her cherished dog, Boomer. In a touching gesture of support, they gifted her a Boston Terrier named Sunny, bringing light and comfort to her heart during a difficult time.

Midge is now reunited with her beloved parents, Dessie and Charles Radford; her sister, Irene Stroman; her brother, Charles Radford; her sister, Mary Royar; and her husband, Harlan J. Cox. Though her absence leaves a void, her spirit remains in the hearts of those who knew her.

She is deeply missed by her two children: daughter Christina Buntin of Yale, OK, and son John West of Olive Branch, MS. She also leaves behind adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a circle of family and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and love.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Karla Patterson, Martha Smith, Trayce Dalmar, Alicia and Mark Gilman, and Connie Craven. Your unwavering support and presence brought immense comfort to Midge and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

In our hearts and memories, Midge's love, laughter, and light will forever shine.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A celebration of Midge's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home chapel.
