Nathaniel Dwayne Melton, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at his home in Tryon, Oklahoma surrounded by family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Nathaniel was born the baby of eight children on February 2, 2008, in Vici, Oklahoma to proud parents Tim and Julie Melton. He grew up in Vici until shortly after his mother's passing in 2011 when the family moved to Henryetta. In 2013 he moved to Oregon for a time before settling back in Oklahoma in 2015. After his father's passing in 2021, Nathaniel moved in with his sister Jessalyn in Tryon. There he began attending school at Agra and absolutely adored going to class and seeing his teachers and friends every day.

Though Nathaniel suffered many physical hardships in life, he wasn't short on spreading joy or having fun. He was a very thankful person, and always said "thank you" for each meal or snack. Every person that entered the room was going to receive a greeting of "hi" or "hello" from Nathaniel. He enjoyed every opportunity to play outside, jumping on the trampoline or taking a ride on the four wheelers. He loved to go on car rides, and especially enjoyed "going fast!" Nathaniel enjoyed being the center of attention and listening to gospel music. If you spent any length of time with him, you knew his favorite color was yellow… in honor of this we invite attendees of his service to wear yellow.

Nathaniel is preceded in death by both of his parents; his grandparents on both sides; one sister-in-law, Rosealyn Melton; and one nephew, Ryder Melton.

He is survived by his siblings, Jordan and wife Kalena Melton of Eugene, OR; Reanna Melton of Edmond, OK; Jacob Melton of Midwest City, OK; Jessalyn and husband Ben Molloy of Tryon, OK; Joseph Melton of Midwest City, OK; Nolen and wife Abby Melton of Midwest City, OK; Jaidan Melton of Tryon, OK; nieces and nephews, Gideon, Sebastian, and Zoey; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Sunny Side Cemetery in Vici, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to assist with funeral costs.
