Necie
Albertson
January 30, 1959 – January 13, 2024
Cheryl Denise "Necie" Albertson, longtime Moore resident passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and dear friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Necie was born January 30, 1959, in Oklahoma City to proud parents James and Bea Carey. She was raised in Oklahoma City until the family moved to Atoka when she was 10 years old. Necie graduated from Atoka High School with the Class of 1977. Upon graduation she worked at Blue Bell at Coalgate before she moved back to Oklahoma City.
In 1979 she started working at GM, where she would meet the love of her life, Stan. On December 13, 1979, Stan and Necie eloped and were married in Galveston, Texas. Stan had three daughters, Casey, Amy, and Kirstie, that she loved and immediately welcomed into the family. Stan and Necie were blessed together with a daughter, Shanda in 1980. They raised their family in the Oklahoma City Metro area, moving to Norman for a while, finally settling in Moore. They both worked together at GM until retiring in 2006 when the plant closed.
Necie was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on September 3, 1995, in Atoka by Bro. Don Carey at Daddy's Pond. After coming into the faith and moving across the road from Bro. Eddie and Sis. Kara, and Sis. Helen, they all became running buddies. They rode to church together, spent countless hours visiting the widows, and the sick. They frequently went walking and exercised together. Sister Helen was truly a mother in the faith to her and they encouraged one another. Sis. Necie took many opportunities to sit up with the sick and help care for them in their final days.
Necie enjoyed watching all sports and was an avid OU fan, watching many of their games in person with her daughter Shanda. Her home was always full of endless fun and entertainment. She loved taking her kids, and later nieces and nephews for fun days at the zoo and white water.
Necie is preceded in death by her parents, James A. Carey Jr. and Bea (Williams) Carey; siblings, Don Carey and Shelly Brown; her "Carey" in-laws, Estel Fisher and Calvin Bagley; special Aunt Cookie; mother in the faith Sis. Helen Tomlinson; Albertson family, Arthur Albertson, Hank and Genevieve Sells, Butch and Jerene Whitney, Diane Buckingham, and Dick Albertson.
She is survived by her husband Stanley of 44 years; daughter Shanda Albertson; step daughters, Casey Smith and family, Amy Jameson and family, and Kirstie Jones and family; siblings, Linda Fisher, Leda Walters (Allen), Jean Bagley, Shirlene Howard (Ronnie), Brad Carey (Rebecca), Vanessa Ashby (Tom), Carlotta Carey, and Marty Brown; bonus family, Eddie and Kara Tomlinson and family, Becky Asgari and family, and Andee Khandani and family; many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
