Nell Corder passed away September 17, 2022, at Linwood Village in Cushing, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Nell Jones was born June 17, 1939, in O'Donnell, Texas. She was raised the 6 th of 7 siblings in the Lubbock area. She enjoyed going to church with her grandmother at an Assembly of God Church. After meeting W.L. McCullar, also of Lubbock, they were married on September 8, 1956, until 1979. The couple moved to Fort Stockton, Texas, where Nell accepted the Lord and decided to raise a family. Nell expressed great pride in having four daughters. The family moved to Hereford, Texas, and she help build a family business, McCullar Machine and Welding.
Later, Nell moved to the Amarillo, Texas area, then Hooker, Oklahoma. She owned and managed apartments in Hooker for 11 years. Later, in retirement she moved to Onalaska, Texas to live at Lake Livingston to boat, and fish. She also enjoyed the company of her siblings in the Houston area.
In April of 2014 Nell moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to be close to family. Nell enjoyed watching Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart, sewing, painting, fishing, boating and her special Chihuahua. Recently, she relocated to Cushing, Oklahoma. Her favorite hymns were Blessed Assurance and Amazing Grace. Following a lengthy illness, she died peacefully assured of her home in Heaven.
Surviving relatives include: her daughters: S. Zallee Campbell of Agra, Oklahoma, Terri D. Gandy of Amarillo, Texas, Joyce L. McCullar of Amarillo, Texas, and Dessie N. Clark of Jacksonville, Florida, her sister Betty Sims-Foster of Cleveland, Texas. Three sons-in-law, Terry Campbell, Joe Gandy, and Rodney Clark, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Nell is preceded in death by W.L. McCullar (2015), parents, Silas and Pearlie Jones, siblings: Jean Hadaway, Leon Jones, Earnest Jones, Earlene Denison, and Foncile Rhodes.
In honor of Nell, our mother, the daughters and family invite all who knew her to join them in Lubbock Texas for a memorial service to celebrate her life. The family will gather at the graveside on November 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at City of Lubbock Cemetery, located at 2011 E. 31 st Street, Lubbock, Texas.
