Obituary

Nell Anna Lehman, lifelong Yale resident passed peacefully from this life at her home on March 30, 2019.  She was born December 12, 1942, the youngest of five children to proud parents Howard and Ruth (Paris) Simpson.

Nell Anna worked as a bookkeeper in Yale, a librarian for many years at the Yale Library, and at Walmart in the jewelry department for a time.  She was a collector of interesting things and had an ability to categorize each of them as if she was a curator of her own museum.  She affectionately cared for Stoney, the infamous turtle she rescued as a baby.  She loved to metal detect, garden, and was a gifted writer and storyteller.  She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Yale.

Nell Anna is preceded in death by her husband Leroy Coke; parents; siblings, Frank Simpson, Elba Vassar, and infant sister Sharon Simpson; and niece Valerie Simpson-Wartick.

She is survived by sister, Billie Jo Olive; brother Buddy and wife Faye Simpson; Sister in law Rita Simpson; 1 nephew, 6 nieces, and many great as well as great-great nieces and nephews; also, by many extended family members and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the Chapel of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
