Nickie Olin Wright, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 with family by his side at the age of 59.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A private family service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Avery Cemetery.

Nickie was born on February 25, 1961 to Olin Howard and Shirley Ann (Gladden) Wright in Cushing, OK. He was raised on the Rocking W Dairy Farm, where he found his true passion of raising and showing cattle. Nickie attended and graduated from Cushing High School in 1979. After completing high school, Nickie went to work full time on the Rocking W Dairy Farm. While on the farm, Nickie was breeding, milking and showing his "girls". He was active in the cattle shows, traveling from coast to coast showing. He won many national awards showing his milking short horned cattle.

Nickie loved his family and made sure they lived comfortably. His love for showing was passed on not only to his family, but also many kids in the 4-H nationwide.

Nickie was an incredible man who was loved by many people and cattle. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Nickie is survived by his wife, Deanna Wright; dad, Olin Wright; seven children, Nathan Wright, Nicholas Wright, Nichole Wright, Noel Wright, Nolin Wright, Alysa Wright, Hannah Crawford; two step children, Marc Robertson, Nathan Robertson; three siblings, Randy Wright, Steve Wright, Brenda Hoffer. Nickie is also survived by numerous grandchildren, one great grandson, and best friend Alan Smith.

Nickie is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann (Gladden) Wright; two grandchildren, Breá Lindsay and Bailey Lindsay. Nickie is also preceded in death by his baby cocker spaniel, Roxy.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the funeral home to help with the funeral expenses.
