Nila Laverne (Butcher) Williams passed from this life on Monday, July 8, 2024, with family by her side at the age of 84.

Nila was born to Alvin and Aleene Butcher on October 6, 1939, at the Dawes family home in Payne County. She grew up on the family farm surrounded by many cousins and family members. Quay, Yale and Norfolk schools were attended during her elementary years. After graduating Norfolk High School in 1958, she attended business school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Nila married the "Love of her Life", Leslie Eugene Williams, on December 21, 1958. To this union of over sixty-five years, five children were born. She was a wonderful mother, dearly loved grandmother and great grandmother. Nila also worked as an accountant for the Williams Farm and Ranch, a teacher assistant for Yale Elementary School, and a bank teller. She also was a Sunday school teacher for the Yale United Methodist Church, where she was a member for over 50 years.

Nila Williams is survived by her husband Gene Williams of the home; daughters Tambra Swart and husband Tony of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Sherry Standefer and husband David of Cushing, Oklahoma; sons Jay Williams and Jon Williams of Maramec, Oklahoma; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nila was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Aleene Butcher, sister Rosalie Raper; brother Fred Butcher; son David Williams; daughter-in-law Cortney Williams and granddaughter Leslie Swart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in Yale, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow at Lawson Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
