Nina Jean Toland, age 80 of Cushing, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at her home in Cushing, Ok.  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, Cushing, OK.  Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, OK.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Family will meet and greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening.

Nina was born on July 28, 1938 in Tryon, Oklahoma to the late Joe and Pauline (Retherford) Stevens.  She grew up in Tryon and Cushing, attending school in Cushing.  Nina met and married the love of her life, Troy Toland on December 18, 1955.  To this union two children were born, Chris and Lanita.  Troy and Nina moved to Cushing, Oklahoma.  Troy moved his family to  many places, Greenwood, Indiana and Corpus Christie, Texas just to name a few before moving back to Cushing.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking and gardening.  Together they painted and hung wallpaper for many years.  Nina had a wonderful servant's heart and loved taking care of her family as well as anyone in need.  She was greatly loved by family and friends.

Nina is survived by one son, Chris Toland of Stillwater, one daughter Lanita Shepherd and husband Travis of Spokane, Washington, sister Lavine Greenfield of Cushing, grandchildren Tyler Toland and wife Monica, Ashley Possin and husband Aaron, Sierra Toland, Amy Bramante and husband Josiah, Cassidy Toland, Alexis Shepherd and Alyssa Shepherd, and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Troy Toland, sister Pansy Case and brother Kenneth Stevens.
