Norma Faye Earnest, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at her home with her family by her side at the age of 86. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Parkland Cemetery in Parkland, OK. Brother Marshall Rodgers will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Norma was born on February 24, 1936, in Oklahoma City to the late James Otto McAbee and Dorothy (Covington) Phebus. She grew up in Oklahoma City, raised by her adopted Father Carl Phebus and her mother Dorothy. She was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn in 1942 by Brother John Covington. She married the love of her life Troy Earnest on January 3, 1953, in Agra, Ok They lived in Virginia, Alaska, and California before settling in Cushing, Oklahoma for the past 45 years. She lived the last two years of her life in Wichita, Kansas with her daughter, grand-daughter and her family. Norma was mainly a homemaker but also worked for Globe Life Insurance in Oklahoma City and later years as a custodian at Deep Rock Elementary School and O.S.U. She loved painting, traveling, quilt making, studying her Bibles and discussing the Bible with everyone. Norma loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her daughter Machele Willis of Wichita, KS and her former husband Ray Willis and Cindy of Oklahoma City, OK, daughter-in-law Bobbie Rodgers and husband Marshall of Cushing, sister-in-law Carol Earnest of Cushing. Grandchildren: Wesley Earnest and wife Jill, Miranda Egas and husband Cesar, Brittany Sewell and husband Zach, Crystal Light and husband Ben, great-grandchildren Dollie, Abrielle, Grant, Roscoe and Sawyer Earnest, Savanah, Christian and Abygail Light, Oliver and Gabriel Egas and numerous other family and friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Troy, sons Timothy Earnest and Rocke Earnest, and grandson Chad Willis.
