Paula B. Brensing, a longtime Drumright resident, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Tulsa surrounded by her family at the age of 62. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Cushing. Rev. Temple Diehl will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Paula was born on October 23, 1956 in Amarillo, Texas to the late Roy C. and Evelyn (Hopson) Blankenship. She grew up in Cushing, graduating from Cushing High School in 1974. Paula married the love of her life Joe Brensing on February 8, 1980 in Cushing and to this union Alicia was born. They made their home in Skedee from 1980 to 2006. She was a homemaker and loved being able to take care of their daughter, her husband and their home. Paula enjoyed making quilts, crafts, cooking, collecting frog figurines, and working crossword puzzles. They all enjoyed playing card and board games. In 2006, they moved back to the Drumright area where they have since lived. In 2009, she began working for Wal-Mart as a fitting room attendant and operator and working there for 10 years. Paula loved spending time with her family and always helping family that had been in the hospital to get better afterwards.
Paula is survived by her husband Joe Brensing of the home, daughter Alicia Brensing of the home, sisters Rebecca Champlain and husband Robert of Pryor, Debora "Hootie" Tinnie of Cushing, Loretta "Shortie" Peirce of Cushing, Dian Blankenship of Cushing, Rhonda Bagwell and husband Noel of Cushing, brother Joe Blankenship and wife Shelly of Guthrie, sisters-in-law June B. Tucker of Pawnee, Henry H. Brensing and wife Becky of Murphy's Burrow, TN., and H.R. Brensing of Pawnee, honorary grandchildren Ayden and Peyton Brown, and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother R.J. Blankenship, brothers-in-law Nelson Brensing, Ken Tucker, David Pierce and Everett Tinnie, sister-in-law Rita Brensing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Paula's name to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
