Peggy Rickner Hager, longtime Yale resident passed from this life on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at her home surrounded by family at the age of 100.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale with Brother Mich Dershem officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
Peggy was born on November 13, 1922, to John and Alice (Bass) Drenseck in San Antonio, Texas. She grew up and attended school in San Antonio. After finishing school, Peggy wanted to further her education and attended business school.
She married the love her life, Bob Rickner on June 30, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas. To this union two children were born, Sandra and Jim. They spent 56 loving years together before his passing in 1999. Later, Peggy married Richard Hager on December 9, 2003, in Yale, OK. They spent 10 loving years together before his passing in 2013.
Peggy was very active in her church and community. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was also a board member of the Yale Senior Citizens and a member of Eastern Stars. In her free time, Peggy was a volunteer at the Stillwater Hospital and Red Cross.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and had many special friends. She will be missed by all.
Peggy is preceded in death by both parents, John and Alice Drenseck; first husband, Bob Rickner; second husband, Richard Hager; and sister, Dora Schwed.
Peggy is survived by her son Jim Rickner and wife, Roxanne; one daughter, Sandra Baumann and husband, Charles; five grandchildren, Wendy Bullis, Kristi Bravo, Jeff Baumann, Lindsey Elston, Andrew Rickner; ten great grandchildren, Bradley Harris, Amanda Kerns, Cooper Baumann, Cade Baumann, Ethan Thompson, Garet Thompson, Nick Bravo, Emma Elston, Owen Elston and Adley Rickner; three great-great grandchildren and one special friend, Brenda Goforth.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peggy's name to the Fellowship Baptist Building Fund. Please mail checks to P.O. Box 67, Yale, OK 74085.
