Obituary

Penny Melinda Cochran, also known as "HeyHey", passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 4:15 p.m. at her home in Silver City surrounded by her family and friends She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 28th, 1961, to David and Peggy East.

Penny met her husband and soulmate, Denny, on a hunting trip at Camp Gerber. They later married on December 1st, 1980. Together, they had two children: Cara and Brandon.

Penny loved animals, mostly bunnies and dogs. She enjoyed playing Canasta, being with her family and friends, going on trips across the US with her husband and family, being with her grandkids, making new friends, watching her favorite TV shows, baking, collecting angels, trying new dishes to cook, drinking coffee, shopping trips, water aerobics, boating, and even fishing, swimming, and gardening.

To know Penny was to love her. She was always willing to help someone in need. She would adopt all the neighbor kids as her own. So, whether you were blood or not, she became your HeyHey.

Penny was proceeded in death by her husband and soulmate, Denny Cochran; her father and mother, David and Peggy East; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charle and Dorothy Irene Cochran; her uncle, Don Cochran and aunt, Lillian Cochran; her grandparents, Martie Stevens, Troy and Ruby Hicks, and William and Myrtle East.

Penny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cara and Calvin Eubanks of Terlton, Oklahoma; her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Stephanie Cochran of Silver City, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Nick of Silver City, and Skylar of Terlton; great-granddaughter Ellie, of Mannford, Oklahoma; her sister, Jeanie Nichols of Arkansas; nephews Mike and James Simons; and too many adopted kids and too many cousins to list.

A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Peninsula Community Church, 1088 S. Peninsula Drive E., Cleveland, OK 74020.
