Phyllis June (Mathes) Bryson (of Stroud, OK) went to be with The Lord on May 14, 2021. Phyllis was born on August 31, 1938 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Lloyd Mathes and Minnie (Caudill) Mathes. She was raised in Stroud, OK.

Phyllis and the love of her life James married on November 14, 1958 in Tecumseh, OK. They made their home in Stroud, OK in 1967.

Phyllis graduated from Hill's Business University in Oklahoma City, OK.
She enjoyed farm life, cooking, gardening, fishing and sewing.

She leaves behind two sons, Jimmy Bryson and wife Merry of Stillwater OK. Gary Bryson and wife Elizabeth of Stroud OK. Grandchildren Kyndel Gooch and wife Daryl Lee, Katelyn Bryson, Rebekah Bryson and Joseph James Bryson. Many precious relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband James H. Bryson; sister Lynda Northcott; brother-in-law Eddie Northcott.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the First Assembly of God in Stroud, OK with Pastor Jeromye Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Stroud Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, OK.
