Obituary

Ramona Dawn Crotinger passed on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at home after a longtime battle with COPD. "Mona" was born on August 31, 1959, to Doyle Clark and Lenora Raybern in Dalhart, Texas. The family moved to the Great Bend, Kansas area where Mona grew up with her siblings, Ron, Donita, and Jeannie, as well as numerous other family members. In 1982, she married Lonnie Crotinger and moved to the Dodge City, Kansas area. They raised their children, Tawanna, Nicholas, Nathan, Katie and Shelly in Ingalls, Kansas, and then moved to Dodge City, Kansas, after their last child left home. It's there where they later decided one more was needed, and Brecca joined the family while she was HS to complete their "not so little" family.

Family was always the central focus on Mona's life. Even when she and Lonnie divorced, they remained close friends to maintain a tied family for their children and grandchildren. All of Mona's life, there was never a conversation without mention of a child, grandchild, son-in-law, crazy cousin or all of us at once. Mona also didn't really care if you weren't blood related. If you were important to her or one of her own, you were family. That is a trait she always impressed upon each of her children. Family is precious and forever. She was never without a smile and a hug for anyone she loved. That and a story..."nobody tells a story quite like Mona."

Mona is survived in life by her children, grandchildren and great grandson; Tawanna & Griffin, Thomas & Leann and Phineas, David - Cushing, Oklahoma; Nathan & Karen, Audrey, Evan, Noah and Sage - Dodge City, Kansas; Katie, Kendra and Morgan - Pratt, Kansas; Shelly & Jimmy, Ashley, Blake, Audrey and Wesley - Cimarron, Kansas; Brecca and De'Mario - Wichita, Kansas. Her ex-husband, yet lifetime friend Lonnie Crotinger - Dodge City, Kansas. Her sisters Donita Barr and Jeannie Tripplett, both of Great Bend, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Steve, Ron and Ivan, sister Donna, sons Nick, Dave and Rene' and countless other family and friends.

We will be celebrating Mona's life on October the 19th in Great Bend, Kansas. Venue to be announced. We are accepting donations for a headstone in leiu of flowers and a link is on FaceBook for this. You are welcome to contact any of the children for more information.
