Randy L
Byers
October 17, 1965 – February 14, 2025
Randy Lee Byers passed peacefully at his home, holding his loving wife's hand, on Friday, February 14, 2025. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Randy was born on October 17, 1965, in Olathe, Colorado to proud parents Lester "Bud" and Bessie (Howard) Byers. He grew up there until he moved to Oklahoma in 1984. Randy was united in marriage to the love of his life, Denice Holman, in 1985. They were baptized together into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on January 12, 1986. Bro Kenny Treagesser baptized him, and Randy recently told him "You took me into that watery grave all those years ago, I want you to see me into this grave too."
Randy and Denice's union was blessed with 6 children: Charlie, Elisabeth, Jesse, T.J., Leeman, and Sarah. The family lived in Colorado from 1990-1995, otherwise they made their home and raised their kids in Moore, Oklahoma. Randy worked for many years locally as a plumber and handyman. He loved to help the brethren, and many times did plumbing jobs to help those in need.
Randy enjoyed the mountains and loved woodworking when he was able. He combined those two passions and made walking sticks from aspen trees from home.
Above all, Randy loved the Lord and was able to maintain his integrity with him until the end. His greatest joy was to be with his family and the brethren.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jerry Byers.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Denice of the home; children, Charlie and wife Bre Byers of McCloud, Elisabeth and husband Josh Jay of Newalla, Jesse Byers of Moore, Tim and wife Katie Byers of Moore, Leeman Byers of Moore, and Sarah Byers of Moore; grandchildren Mitchel Byers, Adam Byers, Hazel Byers, Jasper Lee Byers, Chloe Byers, William Jay, and Emma Byers; brothers, Dean Byers of Olathe, CO, Larry and wife Carol of Austin, CO, and sister Tammy and husband David Nichols of Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Church of the Firstborn, 710 N.E. 27th Street, Moore, OK 73160.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Church of the Firstborn, 710 N.E. 27th Street, Moore, OK 73160. Interment will be at approximately 3:00 p.m. at Parkland Cemetery in Agra, Oklahoma.
