Richard L McKinney Sr. entered Heaven's gates in his home on January 23, 2024. Richard was born to Carmen (Wilde) and Robert McKinney on April 17, 1953, in Pawnee OK. Richard grew up in Cushing, OK, graduating from Cushing High School in 1972. In March of 1973 Richard married the love of his life Lora McKinney. Later that year he joined the Iron Workers Union 584 out of Tulsa where he earned the nickname "Gorilla".

Richard leaves behind his mother Carmen McKinney; Two brothers Robert Jr and EJ; Four children Richard Jr, Amos, Marlene, Lisa and countless others that called him Dad; Four grandchildren Caleb, Matthew, Justin, and John; One great grandchild Baby Amos.

He is preceded in death by his father Robert; two sisters Nancy and Donna; granddaughter Alyssa; and wife of 47 years, Lora.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024 at the Chapel at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, OK.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing.
