Richard Valley was born in Watertown, New York to Heidi (Dominke) and Howard Valley on July 23, 1961. He graduated from South Jefferson High School in Adams Center, NY before moving to Oklahoma. He married Kathy Adair in April 1982, in Tulsa, OK. To this marriage were born 3 children: Miranda, Gwendolyn, and Melissa. Richard was also a graduate of Tulsa Junior College having obtained an Associate's Degree in Business Management. Richard passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, December 5, 2025, following a brief fight with lung cancer.

Richard was an avid fan of sports taking a special interest in the Kansas City Royals, Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Buffalo Bills, and the Buffalo Sabres. He especially enjoyed hockey and even tried out for a minor league team. Richard was hard-working man who loved the Lord. He was most recently employed as an outside salesperson for Horton Supply, of Springfield, MO where he enjoyed spending time chatting with his customers. Many of them became his friends with whom he enjoyed sharing stories of his grandchildren and their activities.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; children: Miranda and partner David Searcy of Weatherford, Gwendolynn Valley, Melissa and husband Anthony Nugent, of Cushing. He is survived by his parents Heidi and Lawrence Brown of Tyler, TX. He is also survived by his sisters: Carol and husband Lorne Flitcroft of Watertown, NY, Jennifer and husband Seth Holland of Tyler, TX, and April and husband Larry Trowbridge of Ocala, FL.

Richard also has many grandchildren: Andrew, Isaac, Isabella, Geoffrey, Elisabeth, Margaret and William. He also has 2 nieces and 2 nephews Evelynne, Elijah, Elizabeth, and Ethan. All of whom he was very proud of.

He is preceded in death by his sister Susanne Valley.

Services have been entrusted to Palmer-Marler Funeral Home in Cushing. A public viewing will be held at Palmer-Marler on Wednesday from 1-8 with family being present from 6-8. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11am at Only Way Baptist Church which is located at 356501 E. 760 Road, Cushing, Oklahoma 74023. Brother Robert Ankney will officiate the services. There will be a potluck luncheon to follow at the church.
