Robert Earl Clawson, Jr. was born on October 5, 1937, in Oilton, Oklahoma, to parents Robert Earl Sr. and Boneta (Cassaw) Clawson.  Bob and his family grew up in the Wewoka, Oklahoma, area where Bob also graduated from high school.  After graduation, Bob joined the Air Force where he was stationed at Mitchell Air Force Base in Long Island, New York.  Bob was deployed to Okinawa, Japan, holding the rank of Airman First Class.

After returning home, Bob moved back to Oklahoma and began driving a gasoline truck for Phillips 66, soon working in the oilfield and then retiring with many years of service in oilfield operation.  Bob was a firm man and carried a firm look, some even saying that he had a "mad" look, but those that knew him, knew that he was nothing but soft underneath.  Bob was a strong Christian man who followed Christ until he went home to be with his Lord.  He and his wife, Dollie, attended church at Fellowship Baptist in Yale, Oklahoma, where he was a Deacon also being very instrumental with building the new church.  One member of the church stated that Bob was one of the reasons that brought her to the church, it was his care and heart that showed God's love.  Bob will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Luker.

He is survived by his wife Dollie; his children, Deborah Smith and husband Bob, Michael Clawson and wife Grace, LaDonna Sprague and husband Chuck, Dale Clawson and Donald Earl Clawson and fiancé Judy Robinette; grandchildren, Ashley Wallace and husband Andrew, Richard Tull, Shawn Barnett and wife Makaya McDaniel, Brandon Clawson, Dustin Clawson and wife Thuy, Megan Clawson, Julie Giannetti and Richard Giannetti and wife Katrina; twenty four great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, friends and others who will miss him greatly.

Bob's visitation will be from 3PM – 6PM on Wednesday, April 10 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Funeral Services will be at 11AM on Thursday, April 11, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Yale, Oklahoma.  Brother Mich Dershem will be officiating with services under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Underwood Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma.
