Ronald Duane Tucker, longtime Cushing resident, passed from this life on Monday, January 7, 2019 in Cushing with his family by his side.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the St.'s Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cushing. Burial will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the St.'s Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Ron was born on March 15, 1940 in Wichita, Kansas to William and Mary (Williams) Tucker. Ron was the middle child out of 12 children. He attended grade school in Kansas, and got his GED while he lived in Oklahoma, and started work at a young age. He worked in the cotton fields as young kid with his family. While getting a drink in a local soda shop, Ron fell head over heels in love with a young woman, Nancy Neises. They were married on February 27, 1960 in Schulte, KS and to this union three daughters, Jacqueline, Julie, and Lisa, were born. Ron and Nancy made their first home in Wichita, but also lived in California, Sapulpa, Stillwater, and Carney before moving to Cushing in 1997. Ron owned and operated the Simple Simon's Pizza in Stillwater for numerous years. He later worked in the maintenance division for the prison in Cushing. He was a true Mr. Fix-it. There was nothing that this man could not fix. When he wasn't fixing something, he could be found out in his shop maintaining his vehicle and keeping it in prime condition.
Family always came first to Ron. He made sure his kids had anything and everything they ever needed. He enjoyed hearing about his grandkids and great grandkids school and sporting events. Ron was a fun-loving dad and grandfather, who always put a smile on your face. Ron was a very religious man, attending mass every week and saying his prayers daily. He was a longtime member of the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cushing.
Ron was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Tucker; parents, William and Mary (Williams) Tucker; siblings, Bill Tucker, Frank Tucker, Lloyd Tucker, Marvin Tucker, Ferol Tucker, Gwen Tucker, Beverly Tucker; grandchild, Miaya Latney.
Ron is survived by three children, Jackie Tucker, Julie Latney and husband, Dwayne, Lisa Price and husband, Charles; three sisters and one brother, Joyce Laperuta, Pamela Fielder, Deanna Nelins, Jerry Tucker; six grandchildren, Joshua Peaslee and wife, Laneisa, Jacob Peaslee and wife, Kristie, Adam Peaslee and wife, Megan, Kiara Green and husband, Romaine, Shenqual Kelly and husband, Aaron, Payton Latney; 9 great grandchildren, Bria Peaslee, Savanah Peaslee, Abigail Allen, Willow Peaslee, Emily Peaslee, Javon Latney, Tristen Green, Nevaeh Green, and Henry Marcus Kelly.
