Russell Dean Mitchell, Jr passed from this life on February 2, 2022.   Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Yale Assembly of God in Yale.  Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery, Guthrie, Oklahoma.   Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Russell was born in Perryton, TX, on November 4, 1973, to parents Russell Sr and Karen (Miller) Mitchell.  He grew up and attended school in Mulvane, KS with his Aunt Billie and Uncle Randy.  While in high school, he attended church, loved playing football and sang in choir. Russell started working in a restaurant and always had the dream of owning his own Bar & Grill.    He later moved to Yale with his Aunt Patty and Uncle Jesse.    He began bull ganging while learning about welding and worked diligently to become a damn good tankie.  Russell went on to obtain his license as a API 653 Tank Inspector in the Oil Industry where he spent 20 years.   Russell met and later married the love of his life, Alycia on February 22, 2001.

Russell loved the O.U. Sooners, attending games and cheering them on from the sidelines.   He never lost his joy of cooking and especially loved grilling for his family and having cookouts.  Some of his favorite past times was riding his Harley, going on vacations, singing and playing his guitar and most of all hanging out with family, friends and his grandkids.

Russell leaves behind his wife Alycia, his children, Preston Mitchell of DePew, Kenton Mitchell and Jamie O'Bryant of Cushing, Tiara Rich and Nicholas Cavett of Glencoe, Hagan Myers of Cushing, step-children Trisha Rich of Yale, Erica Rich and Austin Maxwell of Yale, sister Dyanne Rich and Allen of Yale, and Donna Kay Mitchell of Yale.  Four grandchildren, Wyatt Webb, Stetson Maxwell, Whitley Cavett and Addison Mitchell.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Joan and Lloyd Miller, Lois and Russell Mitchell, parents, his son Russell Dean Mitchell III, cousins Misty Dunlap and Josh Mitchell and uncle Marvin, Gary, Dallas Mitchell, and Melvin Miller.
