Russell Dean Mitchell Sr., of Drumright, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021 at his home in Drumright at the age of 69.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel, Cushing, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow at Summitt View Cemetery, Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Russell was born on July 12, 1951 in Liberal, Kansas to the late Russell Howard and Lois Ardella ( Wisley) Mitchell.  He grew up in Wichita Falls, Tx and later moved to Perryton, Texas where he lived for many years.  Russell worked as a derrick hand in the oilfield for many years.  He married the love of his life Karen Miller and to this union Russell, Donna and Dyanne were born.    He loved being around his family.  Russell moved to Yale and worked for the City of Yale in the street department for four years before retiring to live in Drumright.  Russell liked to listen to music, visit with friends and on occasion, go to the casino.

Russell is survived by his son Russell Dean Mitchell Jr. and wife Alycia of Glencoe, daughters Donna K. Mitchell of Edmond, Dyanne Rich and husband Allen of Yale, brother Marvin Mitchell of Big Lake, Texas, sister Kathryn Crozier and husband Jimmy of El Dorado, OK, Lois Chick of Buffalo, Ok., Delores Tyson of Quanah, Tx., sister in law Patricia Ann Richardson and husband Jessie of Yale, Pamela C. Pollard of Hallett, Billie Denise Heird and husband Randy of Wichita, KS., eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Russell was preceded in death by the love of his life Karen Mitchell, one grandson.
