Obituary

Sammy Lynn Miles, an Oilton resident passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Tulsa at the age of 70.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Highland Cemetery, Oilton, Ok.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Oilton, OK.

Sammy was born on September 1, 1949 in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Pete and Bertha (Snyder) Miles.   He grew up and attended school in Mississippi.  Sammy joined the U. S. Army in October 13, 1966 in Clarksdale, Mississippi serving his country during the Vietnam Era.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Bronze Star Medal and Good Conduct Medal during his 14 years of service.  He married Pamela Jean (Armstrong) Miles on December 19, 1981 in Pampa, Texas.    They lived in Mississippi where he was a mechanic for many years.  In 2003, they moved to Oilton.  Sammy enjoyed watching Mash, old westerns and playing games on his computer.

Sammy is survived by his daughter Linda Wesley and husband Tim of Oilton, William Leslie "Billy" Miles of Oilton, siblings Brenda Keith of Mississippi and Terry Miles of Washington, D.C., grandchildren Courtney Wesley and Christopher Wesley, great grandchildren Izaiah Lukas Tainpeah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and brother David Miles.
