Obituary

Sandra Ann Blaylock passed from this life at the age of 69 years old in Cushing, Oklahoma.  Her care has been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Oklahoma.

Sandra was born on January 23, 1954.  She was the oldest of 6 children born to Lester and Barbara (Bellazano) Epps in Denver, Colorado.  She grew up in Pennsylvania.  Sandra left home at the age of 17; even at an early age she was strong and tenacious, being able to take care of herself.  She married Kenneth Blaylock on December 30, 1972, in Ulysses, Kansas.  Kenneth was a police officer and so they moved often in the Kansas area.

Sandra became the proud Mother of her two children: Tisha and Christopher.  Sandra loved her family. They truly were her life.  She truly was a caring person through and through.  She was fulfilled in her life with her husband, her children and her career, but never knew what she was missing until her five grandchildren came along.  She called them "Her 5 C Kids", Courtney, Connor, Colby, Candice and Cayden.

Sandra loved her grandkids so very much and spent as much time as she could with them.  In 2001, Sandra decided to go back to school where she earned her high school diploma and went on to become a certified medication nurse, later, supervising an assisted living home in Harper, KS.

She also loved to go fishing with her family and putting her caring hands to work crocheting, making doilies and also crocheting hats for kids in the hospital with cancer.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald Epps and Gary Epps.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth of the home; her daughter Tisha Blaylock and companion Ryan Buddenhagen of Oswego, KS; her son Christopher Blaylock and wife Jessica of Yale, OK; her 5 C grandchildren, Courtney Kelly of Parsons, KS, Connor Kelly of Parsons, KS, Colby Miller/Blaylock of Zenda, KS, Candice Blaylock or Yale, OK and Cayden Blaylock of Yale, OK; two sisters, Tamara Pifer and Sharol Ford and one brother, Ronald Dorman; brothers-in-law Dennis, Willis and Timothy Blaylock and sister-in-law Joann who she considered her own family, along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  Sandra will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be for Sandra at 10AM at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel on April 22, 2023.
