Sharon L. Cartmill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on May 16, 1953, in Stroud, Oklahoma, to Virgil and Helen Brown. She grew up in Stroud and graduated from Stroud High School in 1971. Sharon went on to attend East Central University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

It was during her college years that Sharon met the love of her life, Keith Cartmill. The two were married on June 16, 1974, and shared many wonderful years together. Their family grew to include two sons, Casey and Brian, who brought great joy and pride to Sharon throughout her life.

Sharon cherished the simple things in life, especially the time she spent with her family. She enjoyed golfing with her loved ones, watching movies, reading, and spending time outdoors. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and loved taking time to watch and enjoy God’s creations. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a member of the Church of Christ.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Casey Cartmill and his wife, Yvonndalona, and Brian Cartmill and his partner, Susan Cantrell; her beloved grandsons, Xander and Wyatt Cartmill; her brothers, Steve Brown and his wife, Sherry, and Larry Brown and his wife, Janice; along with numerous extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith Cartmill, and her parents, Virgil and Helen Brown.

Sharon leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed, but the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
