Sherrill Ridenour Nye

March 10, 1955 – September 3, 2026

Sherrill Ridenour Nye, a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma and former resident of Cushing, Oklahoma, passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 71.

Sherrill was born in Cushing on March 10, 1955, and graduated from Cushing High School in 1973. At just 19 years old, she began her career in nursing, beginning a lifelong calling of caring for others. Nursing was more than a profession to Sherrill—it was a way of life. She dedicated herself to her patients and took great pride in teaching and mentoring new nurses throughout her career.

Sherrill is survived by her beloved husband, Bill Nye; her children, Tonya Eddington and Carl Cobb; her grandchildren, Cory Barker and Taylor Lacroix; and her great-grandchildren, Braden Lacroix, James Barker, and Gracelynn Barker.

She was preceded in death by her parents James A Ridenour and Edna Pauline Ridenour and her siblings, Pauletta West and James L Ridenour.

Sherrill was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, mentor, sister, aunt, and friend. She was strong, loving, funny, stubborn, outspoken, generous, and completely one of a kind.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow immediately at Euchee Valley Memorial Park.
