Shirley Marie Gentry-Bechtel passed from this life on July 10, 2021 in Drumright, Oklahoma.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Roy Bingham officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery.

Shirley was born on August 27, 1934 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to parents Arthur Preston Gentry and Ethel Flanders Gentry. She went to Cushing schools, graduating in 1952. Right after graduating she married Jerry J Bechtel and they had two children, Kimberly Combs and Ken Bechtel.

Her world was first and foremost her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and bingo. She was also very active in many church groups at the United Methodist in Cushing and loved to help others in need. Shirley was very prideful in her work at Pan American in Tulsa and was highly honored at OSU, receiving many awards.

Shirley is survived by children, Kimberly Combs of Cushing, Ok, Ken A. Bechtel of Skiatook; grandchildren, Richard Combs and wife Jessica of Cushing, Ok, William Combs and fiancée Shiloh of Cushing, Nicholas Combs and wife Larissa, Kindley Combs and fiancée Daniel of Cushing; great grandchildren, Michael, Coleton, Wade and Easton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ethel Gentry and as the youngest of seven all of her siblings.
