Stephen Hal Porter, the fourth, and youngest son of George and Edna (Preston) Porter was born July 10 ^th , 1953 in Yale Oklahoma. Raised in Payne County, Steve attended school in Yale until the family moved to Cushing. He would later graduate Cushing High School with the class of 1971.

On May 18, 1974, Steve married Susie Lavery. To this union, 4 children were born.

Steve began his professional career as a pipeline radiographer, later finding work at Tinker Air Force Base. Steve would work there for 27 years, until he retired in 2013.

Steve passed away on September 1 ^st , 2019, leaving behind his loving wife, three of their children and six grandchildren.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Janna Dell, and brothers Charlie Edward and Benard Lee.

He is survived by Susie, his wife of 45 years, and his children: Jill Nuckolls, her husband Gary and their sons Foster and Griffin; Matt Porter, his wife Michelle and their children Jeremiah and Evelyn; and Jay Porter, his wife Elizabeth and their sons Jack and Ethan. He is also survived by his brother Larry Porter and wife Brenda of Weatherford, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Euchee Valley Memorial Park.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
