Teddy Joe "Ted" Alsip of Stillwater, Oklahoma was born on December 26, 1954, to Glen Jake and Ruth Evelyn Alsip at their home in Jennings, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Yale High School in May of 1973.  After graduation, he started his career at Oklahoma State University as a custodian where he retired after 40 years. He passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the age of 69.

Ted had a huge love for his family and friends.  He was an avid collector of Marvel comics and enjoyed reading and collecting Stephen King novels.  He enjoyed playing card and board games with family and friends and you could quickly see that he was highly intelligent.  He also had a large music collection which included his favorite country musicians and 70's rock.  He became animated when watching and discussing wrestling and football especially the OU Sooners.  He had an amazing memory and could always recount stats on either sport.

Ted was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and friend.  He is survived by his sister Shirley and spouse Fred Chapman, brother Tobie and spouse Neva Alsip, sister Judy and spouse John Warden, along with eight nieces and seven nephews.  Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Dixie Simpson, Gwendalyn Alsip and brothers Max Alsip and Tim Alsip.

His family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Renaissance of Stillwater Assisted Living and Memory Care for the loving care of our beloved Ted.  He considered you his family and Renaissance his home.

Family and friends will join together to honor Ted's life at Greenwood Cemetery at 6708 S. Greenwood Rd., Yale, Oklahoma on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 am.
