Terry Wayne Darling, longtime Yale resident passed peacefully from this life on April 13, 2022, at his home in Yale, OK.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale.

Terry was born August 20, 1952, in Oklahoma City to parents Isaac and Loyce Lawain (Lee) Darling. Terry was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shirley Adams on June 30, 1976, in Hennessey, Oklahoma. Their union of over 44 years was blessed with two wonderful children, Carl and Adrienne.  Terry worked for Sunoco Oil until retirement mainly as a Diesel Mechanic and Crude Hauler.  When not working, he was planning or enjoying his annual elk hunt he went on every October with his buddies.  He was active with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, always attending banquets and usually winning a raffle!  Terry was very close to his son Carl.  They build rat-rods together and took them to many car shows and races. Terry was a retired Lieutenant with the Yale Volunteer Fire Department, serving over 20 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley; one son, Carl Darling; and his parents.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Adrienne Hembree and husband Justin of Deer Creek, OK; daughter in law, Beverly Darling-Holtz of Bartlesville; siblings, Danny Darling and wife Linda of El Reno, OK, and Sherry Darling-Young and husband Charles of Tahlequah, OK; sisters in law, Vicki Baker and husband Terry of Yale, OK, and Deanna Sutterfield and husband Craig of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Madison and Brendan Hembree, Bridget and Lorna Darling, and Amber DeFalco and husband Rocky; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma; Brother Mich Dershem to officiate.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Yale Fire Department.
