Terry Lynn Fick

June 29, 1959 – August 1, 2026

Terry Lynn Fick, 67, of Agra, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026. He was born on June 29, 1959, in Agra, Oklahoma, to the late Jack Lee Sr. and Betty June Fick.

Terry was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Brother Alvie Herrmann at Parkland, Oklahoma.

Raised in a hardworking family, Terry learned early the value of determination, responsibility, and earning an honest living. During his school years, he loved playing sports, especially basketball.

While attending Agra High School, Terry met the love of his life, Linda Herrmann. Determined to win her heart, he found thoughtful ways to spend time with her. After finishing work at his uncle’s dairy, Terry would often head to Linda’s family's dairy where she milked cows. He would take over her duties and let her get some rest. During their courtship, he filled countless letters, which Linda still treasures today, with words of affection, patiently pursuing the young woman he loved until he finally won her heart.

They were married on October 14, 1977, in Parkland, Oklahoma. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with three children: Amy, Garrett, and Gavin. Terry spent countless hours crafting everything Linda’s imagination could dream up. He had an exceptional skill in construction and was able to bring these visions to life. His children were his greatest joys; he brought them along with him as he worked on their place and taught them his skills while building a life together. He loved family gatherings, making memories with them, and sharing stories.

He spent his younger years working alongside his father in the hay fields and concrete business. He later worked for many years at National Standard in Stillwater. Even after long overnight shifts, Terry was rarely one to sit still. After working his regular job, his days off were often spent working with his father-in-law, Alvie and his brother-in-law Terry Herrmann, on construction sites where they built a special bond and cherished memories.

More than a coworker or neighbor, Terry was the kind of friend people could count on. If someone needed help, he was often one of the first to show up, asking nothing in

return. His generosity wasn’t measured by what he had but by his willingness to give of his time, his strength, and his heart.

One of the most defining relationships in Terry’s life was the one he shared with his father. Jack wasn’t just his dad; he was Terry’s best friend. It wasn’t uncommon for Terry to stop by after finishing work in the early morning hours, before going home to sleep, just to sit and visit over a cup of coffee and see if his dad needed a hand with anything. Those simple moments together became some of his most treasured memories.

Terry had an adventurous spirit and wasn’t easily intimidated. He loved a good laugh and was known for his playful teasing. If Terry was giving you a hard time, chances are he liked you. His quick wit and mischievous sense of humor brought smiles to countless family gatherings and friendships, leaving behind stories that will continue to be shared for years to come.

Life brought Terry both blessings and hardships, as it does for so many. Through every season, the people who knew him best never doubted his love for his family, his loyalty to his friends, or the sincerity of his faith. He could pray some of the most heartfelt prayers, and those who heard them knew they came from the depths of his heart.

Terry is survived by his wife, Linda Fick of Agra; his daughter, Amy Charlton and husband, Jhosh, of Cushing; his son, Gavin Fick and wife Tracy, of Agra; his beloved grandchildren, Peyton Ervin, Serenity Hutchinson, Alexia, Devon, Angel, Wesley, and Brayden Fick; great-grandchildren Emsly, Bentley, and Leah; his brother, Jack Fick Jr.; his sister, Marsha Laxton, and husband, Lennie; his sister, Teresa Allen, and husband, David; his sister, Lesia Fick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Fick; his son, Garrett Fick; his infant sister, LaVeta Gene Fick; his brother and sister-in-law Larry Wayne and Irene Fick; his father and mother-in-law, Alvie and Janice Herrmann; his sister-in-law, Terri Ann Herrmann; his sister-in-law Becky Jo Fick; and his grandparents, Frank and Ruth Reedy, as well as Herman and Effie Fick.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Parkland Cemetery.
