Tommy Lee Oberbeck Sr., a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 28, 2019 at the Drumright Nursing Home at the age of 68.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cushing.  Interment will follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing, Ok.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Tommy was born on April 25, 1951 in Yale, Oklahoma to Harry Lee and Robbie Nell (Bruce) Oberbeck.  He grew up on a farm south of Cushing.  Tommy attended Happy Valley School and Cushing High School. He was active in FFA serving as FFA President, raising White Face Herefords to show in numerous fairs and winning many ribbons.  Tommy graduated from Cushing High School in 1969.  He attended O.S.U.   Tommy spent most of the time with his brother Bruce, they did everything together including racing thoroughbreds.  Tommy was self-employed working in the trucking and construction business. Tommy was saved and baptized at the Baptist Church in Avery and later became a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, noodling, and helping to host fish fries and spending time outdoors.  Tommy loved his time with family and friends.

Tommy is survived by his mother Robbie Nell Oberbeck, sons Tommy Lee Oberbeck Jr. and Robbie Joe Oberbeck, nieces and families Nicole and Victor Celso, Courtney and Trevor Turner, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father Harry L. Oberbeck, brother William Bruce Oberbeck, grandparents Virginia Ogle, Bud and Attie Dobson.
