Obituary

Tyler Don Stukey went to be with Jesus on February 14, 2023 at the age of 32 after a ruptured splenic artery and complications that followed. Tyler is survived by his wife of five years, Jovi, his "mini-me", Brooks Tyler and his baby girl McKenna Mae Stukey of Cushing, OK; parents Ron and Beth Stukey of Cushing, OK; brother Brandon and wife Cianne and their children Sutton and Tatum Stukey of Edmond, OK; sister Karli and husband Frank, their children Iceis, Sophia, and Jaxx Wiley of Tampa Fl.; sister Mindi and daughter Hadleigh of Cushing, OK; father and mother-in-law, Carson and Brandi Watts of Cushing, OK; brothers-in-law, Brannon and Andrew Watts of Cushing, OK; and Grandma, Delberta Shedd of Bartlesville, OK. He is preceded in death by "Grandmother" and "Papaw," Jane and Don Creath; and Grandpa, Lowell Stukey.

Tyler was born in Tulsa, OK on October 25, 1990. He grew up in Cushing, OK. He graduated from Cushing High School in 2009 where he played basketball and golf for the Tigers. Following high school, Tyler went on to receive his bachelor of science degree in business administration while playing collegiate golf for Southwestern Christian University. After college, Tyler married the "woman of his dreams," Jovi Watts Stukey. And soon after became the proud and loving father of Brooks and McKenna.

One thing Tyler was known for was his competitive spirit and love for all sports. To him, even recreational sports were not just for fun, winning was what it was all about. In life and in sport, Tyler was the eternal optimist, especially when it came to his beloved, OSU Cowboys. They could be down 44-7 with 4:00 minutes left in the 4 th quarter and Tyler still truly believed they could and would pull it off.

He was an uncle "Bubba" that made family a priority. Ballgames, birthday parties, and other events, he made it a point to be there. His definition of family was bigger than traditional terms and included his co-workers, friends and members of the church; all who knew him for his contagious smile, laugh and love of life.

Tyler's voice was loud but his love for Jovi was even louder. He made the transition to husband and daddy with a commitment to lead his family as Christ demanded; and he did not waiver in this. His personality will forever live on through his "mini-me." Brooks was his pickle ball buddy and best friend. McKenna may have been his strongest competition, testing him daily with a stronger will power than his, and yet, still wrapping herself around his finger. As his "partner in crime," his face lit up like an un-extinguishable flame when he looked at Jovi and together, they set a lifetime of examples for raising a family centered on Christ.

Tyler's smile and laugh were contagious and penetrated the hearts of all who knew him. His voice was loud, but his faith and love for Christ were even louder. Tyler worked as a Mechanical Coordinator for Refined Technologies Incorporated and very quickly became family. His RTI family confirm that even when away from home and on the job, he was the "real deal." Genuine, loyal and truthful to his core.

True to his competitive nature, Tyler beat us all to his eternal home. Tyler was the kind of Christ follower whose life was a testament to the love and grace of Jesus Christ. On a day reserved to celebrate love with cards and heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, Tyler stood face to face with Love itself. There is no doubt that as he stood in the presence of our Lord, he heard the words "well done, my good and faithful servant."
