Wesley Wayne
Shaklee
July 16, 1946 – February 6, 2026
Wesley Wayne Shaklee was born on July 16, 1946, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Arthur and Lela (Coburn) Shaklee. He passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a life marked by hard work, deep faith, and unwavering loyalty to the people—and teams—he loved.
Wesley's early years were shaped by hard work on his family's 1,600-acre farm outside of Porum, Oklahoma. His childhood included a few moves before the family eventually settled in Mount Vernon, Missouri, where he graduated from high school in 1964. Those early experiences instilled in him a strong work ethic and a no-nonsense approach to life that stayed with him always.
In 1984, Wesley married the love of his life, Lorie Miller, in Las Vegas. He was a devoted husband and proud father to his three children: Lance and Becky from his first marriage, and Brian, whom he and Lorie welcomed together.
After high school, Wesley began his career in the pipeline industry in 1965 as a welder's helper. He joined the International Union of Operating Engineers in June of 1966 and went on to become a highly respected industrial radiographer. He took great pride in his work and built a reputation for skill and integrity over a 49-year career, retiring in May 2015.
Outside of work, Wesley knew how to enjoy life. He once tried his hand as a Golden Gloves boxer, loved fishing, playing dominoes, and cookouts with family. He was also a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners fan—missing an OU football game simply wasn't an option.
His life was rooted in his faith, and he lived his beliefs quietly but consistently. He was a faithful member of Yale United Methodist Church.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Lorie; his sons Brian and Lance (wife Jennifer); his daughter Becky; his brother Richard Shaklee (wife Lou); seven grandchildren—Brittany Barnard, Michael Shaklee, Michala Wilson, Liam Shaklee, Matthew Shaklee, Jason Shaklee, and Ivy Swan—along with twenty great-grandchildren. Sister -In- Law, Denise Shaklee and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lela Shaklee, and his brother, Wendell Shaklee.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Yale United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Underwood Cemetery in Yale, Oklahoma.
