William (Bill) Olynn Allton passed from this earthly life to life eternal by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ on November 6, 2019.  He was born on July 23, 1913 to William Holly Allton and Lou Ann (Settle) Allton.  He was blessed with 106 years, 3 months and 13 days of life through which he was an inspiration and blessing to all who knew him.

On August 15, 1936 Bill was united in marriage to Ida Elizabeth Dougherty and from this union were born Norma Lou Allton Rohwer, William Joseph Allton and Patricia Ann Allton Matthews.

His lifetime vocation was serving in the grocery business, employed first by Safeway in Stillwater, Drumright, Chandler and finally as manager in Cushing.  In 1951 he began his own business and ran it until 1978.

Bill was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and served many years as Elder and Sunday school teacher.  During the 1950's he served for several years as a member of the Cushing Public Schools Board of Education.

He was preceded in death by Elizabeth, the love of his life for 69 years, by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.

Survivors include his 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandsons, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 300 E. Moses Street, Cushing, OK.  Pastor Bill Allton will officiate.
