William Earl "Bill" Wattenburger, 62, of Cushing, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from complications of kidney failure in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Bill was born July 20, 1962, in Cushing to Jerry and Coretta (Martin) Wattenburger. He grew up with the natural ability to do well in sports. He did track and field, played baseball, and was in wrestling and football through his senior year of high school. Bill went on to play college football at Kansas Wesleyan. Later, he found his favorite sport, which was bowling.

He entered the Navy in 1983, where he learned the art of painting aircraft. Bill was proud to be a part of the crew that painted the two jets borrowed from the Navy for the movie, Top Gun. Later, he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft, where he helped paint Marine One, the presidential helicopter.

Bill was a beloved father to his two daughters and his grandson. He moved back to his hometown, where he worked at the Cushing Youth Center as the evening manager until the age of 48, when he had a stroke.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jordan Wattenburger and Taylor Wattenburger; his grandson, Jay Harris of Florida; his mother, Coretta Wattenburger; his brothers, Jon Wattenburger and Brian (Kerri) Wattenburger.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Palmer Marler Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Palmer Marler Chapel.
