Yvonne E.
Dean
January 9, 1935 – September 21, 2022
Yvonne E. (Stoops) Dean was born on January 9th, 1935 near Quay, Oklahoma and was blessed to be with all of her family as she passed from this life to be in paradise with her Lord on September 21st, 2022 after a long, hard-fought struggle with Alzheimer's .
As a young girl, Yvonne walked 2 miles each morning and afternoon while attending 4 years at both Markham and Eagle schools. In 1952, Yvonne graduated from Yale high school after serving as FFA sweetheart. After graduation, Yvonne worked for the local Chevrolet dealership.
High School sweethearts Yvonne and Ferlan Dean married in 1956 during Ferlan's military service. While stationed in Hanau, Germany for two years, they enjoyed traveling on leave days with friends through Germany, France, Holland, Luxemburg, Switzerland and Italy. After military service, Ferlan and Yvonne settled for a time in Leon, OK, where Ferlan began his Vocational Agriculture teaching career. After moving to Yale, OK, where they made their home for over 50 years, Yvonne served her family in the home as well as the Eagle Home Demonstration Club, the FFA Mother's club, and as a caregiver for the special needs of Josh Green through the Volunteers of America. Yvonne enjoyed being out with people and earned numerous champion ribbons at the Payne County fair for her crafts and canning. The most important things in this life for Yvonne were her service to the Lord as Sunday school teacher at the Yale Church of God and meeting the needs of her children. When the kitchen table wasn't full of food for canning and meals, it served as Yvonne's seamstress workbench as she fabricated dresses, skirts and shirts for each of her children. In later years, she kept her hands busy with crocheting and is especially famous with family and friends for her pot scrubber creations and countless other items.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Ethel (Woodbury) Stoops and eight older siblings Herman, Erma, Wayne, Kenneth, Lloyd, Loyce, Ted and Bill Stoops. She is survived by her husband Ferlan of the home; her children Janet and husband Ted Williams of Claremore, OK; Angie and husband Richard Prather of Shattuck, OK; Kevin Dean and wife Lisa of Stillwater, OK; Shelley and husband Paul Travis of Oilton, OK; Darin Dean and wife Michelle of Bristow, OK. Yvonne is also survived by ¬¬16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
The family is sincerely grateful and appreciates the caregivers in the home, all the hospice workers and nursing home staff as they served with compassion in care for Yvonne's needs during her final days.
