Annette Cearley, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 in the Hillcrest Hospital Cushing, at the age of 80 years.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Cushing, OK with Pastor Sonny Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing, OK.
The daughter of the late Harry Boyd Stephenson and Ada Fay (Meek) Stephenson, Annette was born on September 4, 1932 in Vinita, OK. She was reared and educated in Vinita, graduating with the class of 1950. She later attended college at Miami, OK.
Annette was united in marriage to William H. Cearley on October 10, 1963 in Miami, OK. The Cearley's moved to Drumright where they lived until moving to Cushing in 1977.
Annette had worked as a secretary for Skat Drilling for 15 years and also for 5 years for Sun Pipeline. She was a longtime member of the AQHA and in her spare time Annette loved riding horses working in her flower and vegetable gardens, fishing in local farm ponds, Keystone Lake and Lake Tenkiller, and following her retirement she even took up cake decorating. But the joy of her life was spending time with her Grandkids. They always brought such joy and smiles to her face. Annette's family always admired that no matter how bad she felt or the struggles she had with her health, Annette never lost her sense of humor or her wonderful smile.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Jones and her husband Jack of Drumright, OK; one son, Kevin Cearley and his wife Brooke of Cushing; one step-daughter, Sherri Whitehead and her husband Mark of Drumright; one daughter-in-law, Frankie Cearley of Cushing; one son-in-law, Ronnie Elsheimer of Drumright; two brothers, James Stephenson and his wife Sylvia of Tulsa and David Stephenson and his wife Yannah of Broken Arrow; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Annette's husband, Bill Cearley; one step-son, Buddy Cearley; one step-daughter, Melba Elsheimer; and one granddaughter, Jacqueline Jones, preceded her in death.
