Obituary

Goldie Pearl Stiles, a longtime Ripley resident, passed away on Monday, August
17, 2015 at her home in Ripley with family by her side at 98 years young.
Funeral services will be held at Mehan Union Church on Saturday, August 22,
2015 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Larry Eslinger and Rev. Quincy Morris will officiate.
Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Ripley, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.

Family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. at Palmer
Marler Funeral Home.

Goldie was born on June 28, 1917 in Baxter, Missouri to the late George and
Mary (Boyd) Jones. The Boyd families arrived in the Ripley area in the early
1800's. Most of the Boyd families settled east of the Ripley river bridge in the "bend" area. Goldie Stiles first came to Ripley on the train when she was three months old. Later she married Ralph Stiles in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They come to visit the Boyd Families on their honeymoon. They were on their way to California to work in the fruit orchards. After being a missionary in New Mexico for a number of years, Goldie and Ralph returned to Ripley in 1963 to die and be buried in the Ripley area. In life Goldie was woman of many talents, she enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing, cooking, If you were visiting Goldie you did not leave empty hearted, handed or hungry. She and Ralph devoted their lives to building churches and sharing the gospel. Goldie retired in 2008 at the age of 91.
She has been a resident of Ripley for 52 years. Her smile was contagious, her
love infectious. She greatly improved the world in which she lived and the people with whom she came in contact.

Goldie is survived by her son Alfred Stiles and wife Pat of Ripley, daughter
Leona Stiles of Ripley, brother Glenn Jones of Lampe, Mo., Grandchildren
Garland Stiles of Yale; LaDawn and Thomas Simpson of Yale; Dorothy and Tony
Cardenas of Tulsa; Debbie and Joe Salazar of Santa Fe; Kathy Duebel of
Albuquerque; Deaunna and Steve Thomas of Cushing; Rusty and Evalyn Shay of
Ripley; Kevin and Cindy Ford of Ripley; Keith and Shelly Ford of Ripley; Tanya
Mattheyer of Ripley, Great Grandchildren Randy, Tracie, Melissa, Shannon,
Michael, KaTina, LeeAnn, Crystal, Jessica, Jessie, Rory, Ashley, Alana, Jason,
Nick, Samantha, Tyler, Austin, Carime, Dennis, Sarah, Kacie and Daniel, 46
Great Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, daughters Novella Lineberry
and Leota Shay, granddaughter Rhonda Shay Hogsett, seven brothers and sisters.
