Sharon Kay Townsend 56 of Yale Oklahoma passed away on March 25, 2016 at Stillwater Medical Center. She was born on March 5, 1960 in Yale Oklahoma to Hershel McKinney and Claudine (Babe) Morris. In September of 1989 Sharon married her husband Johnny Townsend Jr in Beasley TX. They made their way back to Oklahoma settling in Yale where she lived until she passed. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with friends and family. Sharon was also a member of the Chickasaw tribe of Ada Oklahoma.

Sharon was survived by her husband Johnny Townsend of Yale Ok; her children Clyde Britton IV of Yale Oklahoma, Nicole McCurry of Stillwater Oklahoma, Jessica Knights of Stillwater Oklahoma, J.T. Townsend of Stillwater Oklahoma, Zach Richardson of Yale Oklahoma; her mother Claudine (Babe) Morris of Yale Oklahoma, her brothers Darryl McKinney of Yale Oklahoma, Faron McKinney of Yale Oklahoma, L.A. Summers of Stillwater Oklahoma, her sisters Karen Flowers of Maramec Oklahoma, Joyce Wakely of Yale Oklahoma, Peaches Melton of Yale Oklahoma, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was proceeded in death by her father Hershel McKinney and step father Robert Morris.
